The retaining mechanism for the ring driving motor failed and the motor was able to slide back, thereby decreasing interfacing with the weapon. This should increase the average cross-sectional area of the ring, thereby making it stronger. By making the ring from one piece, we remove the need for screws and pins which shear relatively easily. Finally, we are looking at a better interfacing mechanism from the motor to the ring and a better retaining mechanism to keep the ring in place.
