Weapon Speed Fast Enough Where Lift Became an Issue
("Temporary") ("Temporary")

Horizontal Bar Spinner with an initial focus on having modular parts that can be replaced as they get broken. Additionally, having armor that would be able to deflect glancing blows was prioritized in the design. The bar was designed to have a high moment of inertia.

Competitions

Motorama 2018

Results: 1 Win and 2 Losses

  • Bracket Style: Double Elimination
    • [Win vs Nitro Hornet]
      • Drive trouble prevented active attacking
      • Armor proved effective against lighter blows
      • After weapon collision, both bots had non-functional weapon systems
      • Our invertability allowed us to win against the immobile enemy
    • [Loss vs Squishy]
      • Severe drive problems
      • Due to lower amp weapon esc, there were several electrical problems
      • Several electrical shorts occurred as well
    • [Loss vs Some Dumb Pushbot]
      • Total electrical failure
      • Unable to move

Plastic armor

Problems

  • Electrical system was the thing that eventually killed us
  • The esc we planned on using was too big to use once we assembled it
  • The replacement esc we used wasn't rated to handle the current that our motor drew
  • Lack of heat shrink and having to rely on electrical tape caused shorts
  • Difficult to assemble
  • Lack of space inside for wires

Good aspects

  • Sturdy structure, took solid strikes and wasn't torn apart
  • Armor was really good at deflecting and taking minor blows
  • Hard hitting weapon
  • Invertablity

Changes/Improvements

  • Possible weight reduction on stucture
  • Focus more on electrical systems

Notes:

I personally believe it should be named Commi but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At one point it looked like the Millennium Falcon. 30 seconds finalizing the name the design was radically changed and it no longer looked anything like the Millennium Falcon.
