Lotteri is a 4wd modular robot competing in the Hobbyweight or 12lb weight class. It has two modules to use based on opponent matchups: a vertical spinner beater bar, and a suplexing grappler. The beater is wire EDM'd from S7 tool steel and hardened afterwards. The grappler arms and gears are waterjet from 3/8" AR500 and aluminum respectively. Lotteri has one strategy: go all in and win big!

Competitions
NHRL April 2026
- Results: 3W/2L, made top 8 and Primetime, qualifying for a spot in the Pro Tour.
- Bracket Style: Double Elimination Seeding Round -> Single Elimination Bracket
- Forfeit vs RIOT
- Forgot to hot glue BEC wires in place in receiver, leading to intermittent telemetry loss
- Unable to fix in time, forced to forfeit
- TO Win vs Hotdawwg
- First real fight, started cautiously as we didn't know if opponent's flames were working
- Fork geometry resulted in them getting stuck in deep gashes
- Dominated fight, popped the weld holding their chassis together
- Wombo Combo
- TO Win vs Adamant Barrage
- Opponent had drive issues going into match
- Lack of ground game resulted in us front flipping on hits
- Bottom layer of an armor piece delaminated resulting in poor drive control
- Big hit when we got engagement
- JD Win vs Robo-Cat
- Flow state driving
- Controlled pace of match throughout
- Dominated impacts, won almost every single weapon-on-weapon hit
- Lost a fork when their disk hit the mount, but made it work with one
- Battery was quite low after the match
- TO Loss vs Twelvespeed
- Got our nut touched
- Lost weapon-on-weapon, likely due to lower tip speed
- This resulted in us flipping upside down
- Barely drove while inverted, allowing opponent to get a good shot at the nut retaining our weapon stack
- Nut was actually fine, they sheared the threads off the end of the shoulder bolt
- Second inversion without beater resulted in no movement and a tap-out
- Forfeit vs RIOT
- Bracket Style: Double Elimination Seeding Round -> Single Elimination Bracket
NHRL June 2026
- Results: TBD

Problems
- Self-righting does not work and driving upside down is very bad
- Shoulder bolt weapon stack results in a massive stress concentration at the thread connection
- Battery was too small, beater wasn't spun up past 60% the entire event and we puffed one beyond salvaging
- Improper print parameters on armor resulted in undesirable failure mode
- Grappler is too heavy for wedge
- Beater uprights aren't constrained well vertically
- Wiring space is nonexistent, resulted in BEC wires being pinched in grappler and smoking out
- Kake switch is bad, grappler switch caught on fire for no reason
- Not very modular
Good aspects
- Won most weapon-on-weapon impacts despite our slow tip speed
- Drove very fluidly when not inverted
- Ground game was adequate
- Side armor ablated instead of deforming in most scenarios, absorbing impact
- Looked absolutely sick
- Reliable when not getting its nut touched
Changes/Improvements
- Modify beater geometry to allow for torque self-righting
- Upsize battery
- Clean up wiring of internals
- Switch switches
- Don't use shoulder bolt

Notes:
Never stop gambling, let it ride!
Lotteri was named after the bot lead, Liam's, gambling addiction. At NHRL April 2025 he wagered his belt in a match of Monkey Ball with Ryan De Angioletti. After winning the first match, he accepted Ryan's offer of double or nothing. Liam proceeded to lose every match for the rest of the night, forfeiting 2 belts, a shirt, and his pants to Ryan.
