Problems
- Weapon belt would slide off the weapon pulley when spun up to high speeds
- Weapon system was unreliable and would occasionally not spin up at all
- Wheels purchased were too small and had to be made bigger by wrapping rubber tape around its circumference
- Wheels and weapon motor took up more space than expected, requiring the chassis to be sanded down to make them barely fit.
- Outer edges of the drive wheel holes and the internal wires would rub against the wheels, causing differences in friction between the wheels and making the robot not drive straight.
Good aspects
- Was just underweight without having to do any extra weight-reduction procedures
- Drive system was functioning all three matches
- The wheels were well protected
Changes/Improvements
- The weapon pulley design would have to be changed to prevent the weapon belt from slipping
- The entire bot should be a little bit bigger to help everything fit better
- The clearance on the drive wheel holes should be larger
- The wall thickness could be lower but with a higher infill
- The cutout patterns on the sides should be printed thicker or made bigger to increase structural strength
Notes:
Random joke: our weapon
Also: i tried to copy/paste the Bee Movie script but it wouldn't work
named after an execution weapon because it was metal as frick
proceeded to fail to chop up any bots
just drove into them instead
somehow got 2nd place cause our bot was slightly more functional than the other two
