Motorama 2020
- Results: 1-2
- Bracket Style: Double Elimination
- [(Video Link) Victory vs Pipe Bomb]
- Barbi's debut in its new Barbi world ended with a Pipe Bomb exploding.
- After several moments of confused flailing, Pipe Bomb formed an intimate connection with our weapon that resulted in the formation of a new multi-bot, Pipe and Bomb.
- [(Video Link) Defeat vs No Regrets]
- Barbi's next match escalated to a perilous, high-stakes match against a piece of plastic on wheels.
- After getting crowded for 2 minutes by the multi-bot's wedge and plastic wall combo, Barbi failed to win the hearts of the judges.
- [(Video Link) Defeat vs Telefrag]
- Barbi's final match in Motorama revealed a key and oft-overlooked element of robotic combat: the weapon actually spinning.
- Following the bone-chilling realization that the weapon was completely immobile, Barbi decided to assert dominance by attacking Telefrag's weapon with our bottom plate.
- [(Video Link) Victory vs Pipe Bomb]
- Bracket Style: Double Elimination

Drive Motors | 22mm DC Gearmotor with Aluminum Gearbox |
Drive Motor Controllers | Scorpion Mini |
Weapon Motor | Turnigy 2836 Brushless 450-Size Heli Motor 3700kv |
Weapon Motor Controllers | HobbyKing 40A ESC w/UBEC 4A |
Receiver | Hobby King 2.4Ghz Receiver 6Ch V2 |
Remote Control | Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx and Rx V2 |
Battery | The black ones |
Problems
- The belt did not properly fit into the pulley and continuously fell into the stator
- The weapon motor burned out due to a combination of a (possibly) overpowered ESC, an opponent that was resistant to our primary method of attack, and (definitely) incompetent driving
- Weight savings on top and bottom plate led to the deformation of the material and caused the electronics to sag
Good aspects
- Absurdly powerful weapon
- Robust design and construction of chassis
- Almost successfully completed a self destruct sequence
- Arguably the peak of Motorama 2020
Changes/Improvements
- Redesign weapon with aluminum base and steel teeth to improve range and redistribute weight for better uses
- Reinforce the top and bottom plates (redesigning, possibly aluminum??)
- Remaking side plates because they got right properly banged up
- Redesigning the hubs to properly constrain the belt

Joke: Our Robot
Naming Inspiration: the toy we always played with as children
