Revision as of 19:49, 4 September 2007
The wireless subsystem will provide a robust link between the computer and the robots. The system has not been designed yet.
Previous work
Last year we used the Linx HP series modules, they suffered poor performance (perhaps due to design issues).
Preferred Features
Preferred features include (in semi order of importance)
- Out of common frequency (415 MHz, 3.5 GHz, 5.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz)
- Module
- Simple to design and interface with
- Transceiver
- Physically small
- Energy efficient
Suggested Solutions
- Sparkfun has some modules
- Nordic Semiconductor makes some interesting ASICS
- Sirensa
