*shell was a little unbalanced so we never spun up past like 50% because it made it so unstable (it jumped). we probably could hit 3600+ rpm but we never did more than 1800 lol

Problems

  • it was originally just spur gears but the gear ratio wasnt high enough, so we switched to a ring gear
  • there was not a lot of space for electronics, but we figured it out with prayers (hot glue and zipties)
  • probably shouldve made the shell spokes thicker
  • driving was a very rough because the center of gravity wasnt centered left/right so traction was uneven
  • forks are the death of us
  • shell was a little unbalanced so we never spun up past like 50% because it made it so unstable (it jumped). we probably could hit 3600+ rpm but we never did more than 1800 lol

Good aspects

  • it hit pretty hard, most of our wins were through tapout or ko and we tore the weapon completely off of jinx with half a shell
  • zip ties, hot glue, and electrical tape were good enough to keep the electronics in, nothing ever fell off
  • also nothing ever failed electronically which might have been a miracle (just make sure electronics are super secure)
  • self righting worked like perfectly every time

Changes/Improvements

  • thicken the shell spokes
  • very hard to drive so tangent drive to something else probably cuz no space for full 4wd (tank tread drive?)
