RoboWrestling specializes in RoboSumo, an autonomous robot combat in the style of Japanese Sumo tournaments. The field is a metal ring (also known as a dohyo) that allows our robots (which are equipped with magnets) to simulate real sumo wrestlers’ sturdiness. At the judge's call, the robots will then proceed to try and push each other off of the ring. The remaining robot is declared the victor.

We currently work in two weight classes being the sumo (3kg) and minisumo (500g). The 3kg robots have a 20 x 20 cm size restriction, with the 500g having a 10 x 10 cm size restriction. If you are working in the machine shop or mechanical room you will need to wear closed-toe shoes and wear either a t-shirt or have sleeves rolled up. Please make sure there are no loose items of clothing! If you have long hair, please bring a hair tie.
