The Georgia Tech RoboJackets RoboCup Small-Size League team competes in a 6-on-6 AI-driven soccer match against teams from around the world.

The field is equipped with two overhead cameras, which act as the primary information source for the selection of plays and tactics.

== Meetings ==
We meet in the Student Competition Center (575 14th St). If you are working in the machine shop or mechanical room you will need to wear closed-toe shoes and a t-shirt (no long sleeves). Bring a hair tie if needed.

= Good aspects from competition =
* Wheels rolled pretty consistently and did not slip on the carpet terribly often
* Kicks were very consistent, and the kicker did not break
* Shell design was user-friendly, and robust
* Batteries were extremely long lasting
* Control boards were extremely robust

= Issues at competition =
* Lack of chipper made strategy much harder
* Dribbler material was not appropriate
** Using foam is not acceptable compared to a plastic or rubber material
** The dampening aspect of the dribbler is not as important as the grippiness for the dribbler roller
* MBed is incapable of doing enough floating point calculations to process IMU inputs for motion control
* The Decawave radios cut out when the referee walks in between them
* Capture did not work

= Changes/Improvements for 2019 Fleet =
* Develop a chipper to facilitate starts
* Add damping to the dribbler to facilitate passing
* Build upon the usability of the previous shell, and make it semi-permanent
* Build upon the wheels to make a smoother ride
* Create a custom version of the MBed based on the Cortex-M7
* Consider other radio options
* Rebuild capture play to enable passing

Visual content is an important component of RoboJackets’ promotional media. It’s a way to show off all of the things we do both on and off campus and generate interest in our projects and goals. In order facilitate the creation of great videos and social media content, the raw footage we collect should aim to be of a certain quality. This article details some guidelines and advice on how to collect good usable raw content, particularly at events and competitions.

===General Guidelines===
*Try to reduce blurriness and fast movement of the camera. This can be achieved by:
**standing in once place while filming
**taking care to hold the camera steady
*Lighting is very important!!
**Don’t take photos facing the sun -lighting in general should be in front of the subject and not behind it.
**Materials with harsh or uneven lighting are often more difficult to edit

====Video Specific====
*If you know your shot is going to have a lot of movement it will be easier to have a wider shot of the whole scene than try to follow it.
*Avoid zooming in in general, this gives the editor more room in the shot to reduce shakiness and zoom in manually as they see fit.
