The TE Competition serves as a capstone event for all TE teams giving them the chance to test out their robotics skills.

This is same the parking as used for TE Sessions

Objective

These are in no particular order of importance your team should decide on a strategy.

  1. To move red cups out of the primary zone and into the outer bounds with in the allotted time.
  2. To place the blue cup in the special zone.

Rules

Field

Total robot traveling game space will be at max 6ft by 6ft (including the outer bounds 7ft by 7ft). Do note field is not square these are max dimensions. See below for drawing.

2008 Field Sketch

Boundaries are colored Black. Thickness can be approximated by electrical tape.
The special zone is a solid color not hatched and not black or white.

Robot

Size

Maximum foot print at any time shall be 1ft by 1ft.

Materials

You are allowed to use only what is available in the NXT kits which have been used in TE Sessions. An additional light sensor will be provided.

These are sensors found in the NXT kits used during TE sessions.

Match Duration

Match duration will be determined by attendance of teams.

Scoring

  1. 1 points for each red cup fully in the outer bounds.
  2. 0 points for each red cup in the special zone.
  3. 10 points for the blue cup fully in the special zone.
  4. 0 points for the blue cup in the outer bounds.
  5. 0 points for each cup left in the primary zone.

Overall Ranking

Each teams score will be added up. If their is a tie at the end each team will get 1 additional run to settle the tie. The team with the highest score in this additional round is the higher ranked team. This will only be done for teams in the top 3.

  1. 10:00 am - Teams arrive
  2. 10:30 am - Opening & Welcome
  3. 11:00 am - Teams prep
  4. 11:15 am - 1hr of practice and sensor calibration begins
  5. 12:15 pm - Lunch
  6. 12:45 pm - Speech in Auditorium
  7. 1:15 pm - Matches start
  8. 4:45 pm - Awards
  9. 5:00 pm - Teams leave
