Previous work

Last year we used the Linx HP series modules, they suffered poor performance (perhaps due to design issues).

Preferred Features

Preferred features include (in semi order of importance)

• Out of common frequency (415 MHz, 3.5 GHz, 5.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz)

  • 5.8 to 2.4 GHz "transconverter"
  • 5.8 GHz digital cordless telephone ASIC
• Linx Technologies
  • HP3 series - what we used last year and what every other team uses. Operates on 900MHz band
  • LT Series - transceiver module. Operates out of band. Small and surface mounted. 10kbs. Only requires an antenna! $12.89 each.

First Prototype Solution

For the first prototype we will be using the Linx HP3 series with a Linx ANT-916-CW-RH 1/4 wave antenna. The antenna has a RP SMA connector.
