Indexable Tools
We have several tools that use indexable carbide inserts. There are about a billion (not kidding) different permutations of indexable inserts. You should refer to the Machinery's Handbook chapter Tooling and Toolmaking section Indexable Inserts for some (confusing) guidance.
Standard Tools
There are several tool holders that we own with triangular inserts. They all use the same size insert. The inserts that fit have a 3/8" inscribed circle and can have varying heights from around 1/8 inch to maybe 1/4 inch. The following parts have been successfully ordered from McMaster.
