Club TODO List
From GT RoboJackets
This is a club TODO list. Add more items or add comments for existing items. Talk about both the positives and negatives and periodically we will update the list with new items or remove ones we have finished or decided to avoid and why.
-
Increasing our funding level beyond $40k through grants and donations - Increasing our presence on campus through RIM, special events(Campus Robot Competition), and new outreach programs
- Increasing the opportunities for student research through RoboJackets by offering better collaboration with faculty
- Providing academic support to members by better utilizing the wealth of knowledge in the club
- Increasing our productivity through the use of on-line collaboration software (which is already in use by RoboCup)
- More social events and better interaction with Robotics Teams at other metro area colleges
- Increasing the opportunities for service by expanding our TE sessions
- Bringing information about the group to graduate students.
- Bring the RoboJackets organization to the attention of upstanding faculty involved in our line of work through at least both Dr. Book and Dr. Paredis.
- New member training: new members need to have a way to get accustomed to how we do things and learn the basics of both tools and software.
- Continue the TE Sessions and make sure that they are well advertised, planned out, and beneficial.
- Departmental Help and Support: Continue our long standing relationship with the ME department, but also branch out to departments like E/CE, CS, and RIM because of the many avenues of support they too can offer.
- Organization and Maintenance of Club Equipment: Make sure that we have a solid system in place of updating our tools and keeping everything working and running as it should.
- Hold Manditory officer and team leader meetings so that the voice of every team can be heard and their needs met.
- Make sure that the club funding is being handled and that the Treasurer has the appropriate resources.
- Restructure our FIRST involvement so we can impact a greater number of students (ask me about it - don't want to write it here)
- Grow our outreach programs
- Collaborate with professors and educators to develop two TE sessions curricula (a beginner and advanced course).
- Publish the curricula and send copies to schools before the sessions start.
- Offer the TE sessions remotely.
- FIRST mentor meetings
- Offer build season Q/A and help sessions for Metro Atlanta teams.
- Recruit more members to support our projects and outreach programs.
- Develop club development tools
- Player/Stage - general purpose robotics simulation and development environment
- RJ Board - general purpose robotics controller
- Develop a project management / tracking solution (RC is testing one now)
- Increase our on-campus viability
- Collaborate with professors and research groups

- Have better organized and more regular meeting minutes posted on wiki
